Apple is set to push back the release date of the newest Macbook Air and iPad Air models into the first half of 2025, if rumors are to be believed. The iPhone 16 began shipping in late September, and according to Bloomberg’s “Power On” Newsletter, the tech giant is now turning its attention to other product releases. Apple reportedly plans to announce a whole suite of new products in October and early November. These include a low-end 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M4 chip, high-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with M4 chips, and a revamped Mac mini in both M4 and M4 Pro chip configurations.However, Apple is set to postpone several other updated devices, forcing fans to wait until next year. Both the new 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models are reportedly set to be delayed, alongside the revamped iPhone SE, and the 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air models.An upgraded AirTag item finder accessory is also set to be pushed to 2025.But it’s not just new hardware that Apple fans have to look forward to over the next few months.If the newsletter’s predictions are correct, Apple plans an October 28 release for iOS 18.1 and for its long-awaited suite of AI products Apple Intelligence.Apple Intelligence is not a single operating system or AI model, but a collection of different AI tools. Apple promises the new suite of AI tools will allow users “to understand and create language and images, take action across apps, and draw from personal context to simplify and accelerate everyday tasks.”The company promises that the tool will be “deeply integrated” with its voice tool Alexa.However, Apple Intelligence will only be available to people using relatively high-end devices— at least initially.

Only users with an iPhone 15 Pro and up, or iPads or Macs with at least an M1 chip, will be able to use Apple Intelligence, a limitation that Apple has so far chalked up to high-performance demands.
