Learn more Table of Contents Table of Contents AMD is reportedly planning to announce a brand new RDNA3 GPU, the Radeon RX 7650 GRE which falls under the Golden Rabbit Edition series set for launch at CES 2025. According to the information provided by Hoang Anh Phu, AMD will be launching a new GPU based on the RDNA3 architecture called the Radeon RX 7650 GRE (Golden Rabbit Edition). The new graphics card is planned for CES 2025 and will most likely be the last GPU based on the RDNA3 architecture before the RDNA4 lineup which is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2025. While we don’t have any preliminary specifications or early pricing information regarding the RX 7650 GRE, we already have two GPUs from the RX 7600 series. What to expect from the Radeon RX 7650 GRE? Although we do not have any solid information regarding the RX 7650 GRE, the two currently available GPUs from the RX 7600 series might hint us toward possible expectations. Both the Radeon RX 7600 and the Radeon RX 7600 XT are equipped with the Navi 33 GPU core, featuring 32 compute units, 2,048 stream processors, 64 AI accelerators, and a 128-bit memory interface with 18 Gbps modules. The XT variant comes with 16 GB of memory and has a higher clock speed of up to 2.76 GHz, while the non-XT variant includes 8 GB of memory and is rated at a peak frequency of 2.66 GHz. The XT variant is specified at 190W, whereas the non-XT variant is rated at 165W. Radeon RX 7600 and 7600 XT. Source: AMD From these specifications, it’s clear that there isn’t much room for a third refresh that offers something distinct. However, AMD may introduce the RX 7650 GRE as an entry-level solution. One possible move from AMD could be to make use of a cut-down NAVI 32 GPU for the RX 7650 GRE instead of releasing a third GPU with the same NAVI 33 chip. As for the pricing, the Radeon RX 7600 and RX 7600 XT retail for less than $300 US, so we can expect the RX 7650 GRE to fall under the same numbers. Can we expect to see the Radeon RX 7900 GRE in US and EU markets? While previous GRE launches were limited to the Asia Pacific region (due to GRE being a reference to the Year of the Rabbit in Chinese culture), AMD is slowly extending its GRE cards to other markets, including the US and EU, as seen with the Radeon RX 7900 GRE. This suggests that the Radeon RX 7650 GRE may also be available beyond Asia Pacific.
