With the holidays fast approaching, speculation has been swirling about how one of the world’s most-watched couples will celebrate. While Swifties may have hoped for a cozy celebration between this power couple, it looks like Taylor Swift’s Thanksgiving plans won’t include sharing turkey and stuffing with boyfriend Travis Kelce this year—at least according to the NFL star’s mom, Donna Kelce.

During a recent appearance on TODAY—where she shared a yummy recipe for marshmallow crescent puffs, no less—Donna Kelce revealed that football will take center stage this holiday season. “I am going to be at a football game. Travis is playing the day after Thanksgiving,” she explained, adding, “You know, football is always the holidays. Football’s family.”
When asked about the possibility of Swift joining the Kelce family festivities, Donna offered a pretty straightforward response: “I don’t think so. She’s kind of busy right now. She still has her tour to do.”
Indeed, the “Anti-Hero” singer has her hands full with the international leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour. After wrapping up her U.S. shows on November 3rd in Indianapolis, Swift is currently performing in Toronto from November 14-16 and 21-23, before concluding her tour in Vancouver on December 8.
Meanwhile, Kelce and his Kansas City Chiefs teammates will face off against the Las Vegas Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium on November 29, the day after Thanksgiving. So, giving this timing, it’s fair to see how a shared Thanksgiving celebration could be logistically challenging for the couple, who have been publicly linked since September 2023.
Despite potentially spending the holidays apart, Kelce and Swift’s relationship appears to be thriving. In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, Donna shared some heartwarming insights about her son’s romance with the pop superstar. “I can tell you this,” she revealed, “He’s happier than I’ve seen him in a long time… God bless him, he shot for the stars!”
Swift and Kelce have always shown their mutual support throughout their relationship, with Swift frequently attending Chiefs games and Kelce making appearances at her concerts. So, while the couple’s busy schedules might keep them apart this holiday, their successful careers—and their obvious happiness together—will certainly give them plenty to be thankful for!
