Apple is reportedly working on a new Mac mini that could be its smallest desktop computer ever.As Bloomberg reports, the smaller computer will be closer in size to an Apple TV set-top box, though it may be slightly taller than the current version. The third-gen Apple TV 4K comes in at 1.2 by 3.7 by 3.7 inches (HWD), while the latest M3-based Mac mini measures 1.4 by 7.7 by 7.7 inches. Bloomberg describes the upcoming Mac mini as “an iPad Pro in a small box,” citing people involved in the new PC’s development. Like the newest iPad Pro, the redesigned Mac mini will run an M4 chip; a more powerful version will run the upcoming M4 Pro chip, according to Bloomberg, which previously reported that AI-enhanced M4 chips are coming to the full Mac lineup in late 2024 and early 2025. The Mac mini is expected later this year.
