We reviewed a slightly different configuration and said that it “can handle daily school or home-office tasks that the average user may need to complete,” giving it an Editors’ Choice award. This configuration is on sale for half off and comes with an Intel Core i5-1334U CPU, 8GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD.

School is honestly one of the last times you’re going to need to use a printer on a regular basis, even if it’s just for making flyers to advertise your house parties. We reviewed HP’s Omen 45L and praised its “top-notch quality, easy serviceability, room for six storage drives, and outstanding performance.” It comes in a wide variety of configurations, but the one currently on sale includes an Intel Core i7-i7-14700K processor that boosts up to 5.6GHz, a GeForce RTX 4060 Ti GPU, 16GB of Kingston Fury DDR5-5200 RAM and a 1TB SSD. At $470 off, that’s a real bargain.

Performance-wise, this isn’t a monitor that’s going to raise any eyebrows, but there are other factors making it a good buy. A sale is a sale, and if HP wants to include gaming hardware in its back-to-school offers we’re not going to argue. The Omen Transcend 16t is a capable portable with some nice specs. In our review, we praised its “sleek, professional-looking frame” and bright 16:10 mini-LED display.
