Inside My Camera Bag | Andri Tei

My name is Andri Tei, and I am a wedding photographer based in Singapore.
For the past thirteen years, I’ve helped hundreds of couples immortalize their big wedding day, and I still love every aspect of my work!
I have always been a Nikon user, starting with the Nikon D700 and then to the Nikon D750 before making the big jump to their mirrorless system in 2019 with the Nikon Z6.
I am currently using a Nikon Z8, which Nikon sponsored, as I am one of their current Creators.
Nikon Z8 – Hands down, it is the most powerful and satisfying camera I have ever used in my entire life.
It has the resolution, speed, and features that have kept me at the top of my game. I don’t foresee myself upgrading from this for at least five years.
The entirely silent electronic shutter and awesome Autofocus system are indispensable for fast-paced wedding work.
With it, I can be a full ninja and capture without anyone ever noticing, which gives my work an edge over the rest.
Nikon Z6 – This is my first Nikon mirrorless camera and a backup body to my Nikon Z8. This is still a very powerful camera given its age.
What I love most is how light and compact it is, and it gives me about eighty-five percent of the Z8 in a smaller package.
Nikon 14-30mm f/4 S – This is my go-to ultra-wide angle which is always in my bag for tight spaces and where I need the dramatic wide perspective.
Nikon 35mm f/1.8 S – This is my favorite standard lens, always paired on my Nikon Z8 body. It is ultra-sharp and compact, with beautiful bokeh and color.
Nikon 50mm f/1.8 S – My standard portraiture lens. Extremely sharp and with beautiful bokeh and rendering.
Nikon 85mm f/1.8 S – Another favorite portrait lens. It is indispensable when I need to go tighter than 50mm while still being relatively compact for the run-and-gun style of an actual-day wedding.
Lensbaby 50mm f/2.5 Tilt – This is one of my fun-and-play lenses when I want to inject creativity into my pre-wedding and engagement photoshoots. Again this one is ultra-compact, light, and gives impressive results for the price.
Takumar 50mm f/1.8 – Another fun lens to have when I want to achieve the wild flare for portraiture, which modern lenses can hardly provide due to their superior coating. It has that nice vintage look and color.
Samyang 12mm f/2.8 – I use this only for special occasions when I have exhausted all possible options with the standard lenses and even ultra-wide.
The thing with Fisheye is that you cannot overdo it with too many images, as you lose the impact. Just one or two photos give the whole set a step up in perspective.
Godox V350N – Extremely compact flash and sufficient power for my needs which is basically just table photos and fill in flash.
Godox X1T-N Trigger – For that occasional off-camera flash trigger when I need it.
Magmod Maggrid – This one helps to shape the light for a dramatic effect.
Peak Design Field Pouch – This is my go-to lens bag. It is useful for storing the third lens and filters when I need fast and easy access.
Optech Camera Strap – The most comfortable and durable camera straps I have used.
Lightroom Classic and of course, with my own custom presets.
I like to carry a small bottle of insect repellent, which is always handy, especially in humid, tropical Singapore.
I am honored to be invited to join the Shotkit family. It’s a joy to be on the platform, share what is in my bag, and look at the setups of other photographers.
