NANLITE Alien 150C and 300C LED Panel Lights Released – Multiple Power Options, IP-55 Rating, and More

NANLITE has just released two new panel lights, the NANLITE Alien 150C and 300C. First teased at NAB 2024, we saw the prototype for these lights and noted how compact and lightweight they are while still offering an advanced color mixing system and multiple power options, including V-mount battery compatibility. The lights are versatile and can be used in various settings, including outdoors, due to their IP-55 weather resistance rating. So, let’s have a look!NANLITE appears to come out with a new light almost every month! They only just released the NANLITE FC-500C Full-Color LED Spotlight in July, and in June, we saw the NANLITE FS-300C RGBW LED Spotlight. This time, we have two compact LED panel lights with some interesting features that make them suitable across the board for a variety of applications.NANLITE Alien 150C and 300C LED Panel LightsNANLITE Alien LED panel lights – key featuresThe Alien 150C has a rated power of 175W, weighs only 3.6kg/7.94lb, and has an illumination area of 24.6×18cm/9.7×7.1in, whereas the Alien 300C is 350W, weighs 6.6kg/14.55lb, and measures 36×24.8cm/14.2×9.8in. Key features are as follows:LED full-color panel lightRespective rated power of 175W (Alien 150C) and 350W (Alien 300C), powerful output delivering 13,050 lux and 28,630 lux @1m, 5600KDimming from 0.0% to 100.0%, by 0.1% incrementWide CCT range of 2700K-12000K with ±150 green/magenta adjustment • Excellent color rendition with CRI/TLCI average 96 and 97, TM-30 Rf average 94, TM-30 Rg average 100Comprehensive control methods: on-board, remote controller, Nanlink App, DMX/RDM, LumenRadio CRMXVersatile power choices: AC/DC/V-mount batteryMultiple lighting modes: CCT, HSI, RGBW, Gel, XY Coordinates, effect • 15 built-in special effects with customizable parameters in each effect • Five fan modes: Smart, Full Speed, Low Speed, Pause, OffSupports firmware update via USB port on the lamp headIP55-rated lamp head, including a rain cover for the control unitNANLITE Alien’s different color modes. When set to 5600K, the Alien lights generate an output of 13,050 lux (Alien 150C) and 28,630 lux (Alien 300C) at one meter. According to the company, this output is maintained even when using softboxes or diffusion filters.A color mixing system and a variety of controls. Source: NANLITEThe NANLITE Alien 150C and Alien 300C use an RGBWW color mixing system. The color temperature ranges from 2700K to 12000K, and the green/magenta adjustment is ±150. This allows for matching other light sources and simulating different times of day.The Alien series offers three dimming modes: 0.1% for precise control, 1% for quick adjustments, and 0.1% increments specifically for brightness levels below 10%. With new hardware and software upgrades and enhancements, the Alien series now features linear dimming for smooth transitions at the lowest brightness levels (0.0% to 1.0%). There are 7 DMX dimming curves and 15 DMX modes. There are also five fan modes to choose from: Smart (the lamp head switches fan speed according to the ambient temperature), Full Speed (maximum output 100%), Low Speed (maximum output is 50%), Pause (maximum output is 100% – fan automatically switches to Smart mode when the lamp head reaches critical temperature), and Off. In Smart mode, the average sound level is 19 dB(A), and when complete silence is required, Pause mode will temporarily turn the fans off while the lamp still runs at 100% brightness.Rated IP-55 and ready for the outdoors. Source: NANLITEAlien lights are aimed at users who require versatility and control in their lighting solutions. They can handle both indoor scenarios where space is tight and outdoor scenarios in bad weather, as they are rated IP-55 and can withstand rain. They were designed with a separate lamp head and control unit for easy transport. Multiple control options. Source: NANLITEVersatile control options for the NANLITE Alien lightsUsers have a plethora of choices for controlling the lights. A 3.2-inch screen provides on-board control with a user-friendly interface featuring four buttons and three knobs. For remote operation, a built-in 2.4G module allows for quick adjustments of basic settings. The Nanlink App 2.0 offers wireless control with a new light plot function and improved interface, so users can simultaneously control multiple NANLITE and NANLUX fixtures. Wired control is supported through 5-pin XLR DMX in and out ports for precise group control via a lighting console. Additionally, the Alien 150C and Alien 300C offer stable wireless DMX control through LumenRadio CRMX.Power options for the Alien series. Source: NANLITEPower optionsThe Alien series can be powered by AC/DC, 14.4-14.8V, or 26-28V batteries. The 150C model uses one V-mount battery, while the 300C can use multiple V-mount batteries with different voltages. Both models support hot swapping power sources between options without interruption, according to the company.Price and availabilityIncluded with the NANLITE Alien lights are a quick-release clamp, a pop-up softbox, and a sturdy carrying case. A barndoor is available as an option. The Alien 150C and 300C are available now.
