ProGrade Digital has announced a new line of SSDs. They’re all technically the same model, the ProGrade PG10 Pro SSD, but it’s available in 2TB ($399.99), 4TB ($799.99) and 8TB ($1,399.99) capacities. They’re based on the latest USB4 technology, with read and write speeds of up to 2500MB/sec.
As with ProGrade’s memory card readers, the new SSDs feature the company’s magnetic base. They also come with an adhesive metal plate for sticking to the back of your laptop or anywhere else you want to stick it.

SSDs is a new venture for the company that’s spent the last six years making memory cards. They started off with CFast 2.0 and UHS-II V60 SD cards, branching out later into V60 UHS-II microSD cards, V90 UHS-II SD cards and CFexpress – including CFexpress 4.0. And, of course, they released relevant card readers to go with them.
ProGrade Digital is embarking into a new category of professional SSDs (Solid State Drives) with a product offering that aligns with all of the core values of our brand. We have recognized for years that there is an opportunity to expand further into the professional workflow with a high capacity, high performance SSD but were waiting for just the right time to enter with a truly new and defining product that offers unique features and value.
Wes Brewer, ProGrade Digital founder and CEO
The new ProGrade PG10 SSD is available in capacities of 2TB, 4TB and 8TB. It sports a USB4/Thunderbolt 4 interface to maximise file transfers. When it comes to read and write speeds, all are high at 2500MB/sec for both. But there is a little difference between the capacities when it comes to guaranteed minimum sustained write speeds.
ProGrade PG10 2TB – 1500MB/sec minimum sustained write
ProGrade PG10 4TB – 2000MB/sec minimum sustained write
ProGrade PG10 8TB – 2000MB/sec minimum sustained write
Even though they’re USB4 SSDs, they’re backwards compatible with devices containing only USB 3.x Type-C sockets. Of course, you’ll be limited to the maximum speed of those sockets. So, you won’t hit the numbers above, but you should max out the USB capabilities you have available.
Price and Availability
The ProGrade Digital PG10 SSD is available to pre-order now for $399.99 for 2TB, $799.99 for 4TB and $1,399 for 8TB – the latter of which is available in Windows-only or Mac-only options. Items are expected to ship in the coming weeks.
