Rachel Roy Responds to Beyonce, Jay Z Affair Cowboy Carter Lyrics

Is it 2016 again? Years after the affair, many people in the BeyHive are looking at Rachel Roy’s history with Beyoncé and Jay-Z after their affair rumors. The fashion designer made a cryptic post days before Cowboy Carter was released.

In an Instagram post, Rachel Roy posted a quote by Albert Einstein, “Stay away from negative people. They have a problem for every solution. She wrote in the caption, “Some look to be overjoyed at every turn, every decision, every moment, others look to be annoyed at every moment, pointing out all negatives that might go wrong. Which are you? Imagine all of the people that once told Albert he could not try or think anything new…

Her caption continued, “My wish today: May I look to be overjoyed with every moment. May I see the beauty in everyone and in myself. May I only be around those that do the same.”

Roy has been the subject of Jay-Z‘s affair after Beyoncé released her critically acclaimed 2016 album Lemonade. In the song “Sorry,” Beyoncé sings “He only want me when I’m not there / He better call Becky with the good hair.” Many fans speculated that “Becky” was Roy after her long history with Jay-Z’s business enterprise Roc-A-Wear, where she met her then-husband Damon Dash.

Rumors of an affair emerged after fans speculated Solange was angry about Jay Z’s rumored relationship with Roy when they were all at the 2014 Met Gala. At the time, BeyHive accidentally attacked celebrity chef Rachel Ray after mistaking their names.

Roy’s posts fueled the rumors after she posted an Instagram post close to the release of Lemonade. “Good hair don’t care, but we will take good lighting, for selfies, or self truths, always. Live in the light #nodramaqueens,” she wrote in a now-deleted post in which BeyHive swarmed the comments.

Though we will probably ever know the real identity of Jay-Z’s mistress, the phrase “Good Hair” has reemerged after Beyoncé released Cowboy Carter. “Hey, Ms. Honey Bee, it’s Dolly P.,” country legend Dolly Parton says in an interlude  called “Dolly P” which led into a reimagined cover of “Jolene.” “You know that hussy with the good hair you sing about? Reminded me of someone I knew back when, except she has flaming locks of auburn hair, bless her heart. Just a hair of a different color, but it hurts just the same.”

One Beyoncé fan posted on X, “Rachel Roy absolutely thought she’d heard the last of yall in 2016 and yet lol.”
