At IBC 2024, SIGMA is presenting a prototype of the SIGMA 28-45mm T2 autofocus cinema lens based on the recently launched 28-45mm F1.8 DG DN | Art stills version. This new cine lens is currently still under development, but let’s have a look at the details we have so far.Just a few days ago, SIGMA introduced the full-frame 28-105mm f/2.8 DG DN | Art lens. Now, at IBC 2024, they will be showcasing a “proof-of-concept” prototype AF cinema lens based on the SIGMA 28-45mm F1.8 DG DN | Art, and as a refresher, this is the world’s fastest full-frame zoom lens with a constant f/1.8 aperture. Last month, we wrote about what we could expect from this prototype. The following video shows you some of the features the prototype is based on:SIGMA 28-45mm T2 autofocus cine lens prototypeThe new lens is still under development, according to SIGMA. Still, the specs on it say it will be an autofocus, fast-aperture cine zoom with geared zoom, focus, and iris rings, distance markings in both meters and feet, a de-clicked aperture, and compatibility with Φ86mm screw-on filters and Φ95mm matte boxes. There’s also an AF/MF switch to move between the two different focusing modes.SIGMA 28-45mm T2 full-frame autofocus cine lens prototype.
