Netflix is looking good this spooky season, with a panoply of content from all over the world. It’s a real mixed bag this month, with a new season of Love is Blind, including an Arabic-language edition, coupled with the return of well-liked shows, new movies, and more. We went through the listings and watched every single one of the trailers to pick out what we think are the best bets for the month. Here’s our guide to the hottest new content on the streaming service in October.The Platform 2 (Oct. 4)
Cult horror hit The Platform isn’t a movie we’d expect to get a sequel, but Netflix is just full of surprises. Set in a bizarre vertical prison where food starts at the top and makes its way disgustingly to the bottom, it’s a not-so-subtle satire on class and privilege. The sequel, unsurprisingly titled The Platform 2, sees a new group of inmates contend with the Self-Management Center.Outer Banks: Season 4, Part 1 (Oct. 10)
There’s nothing too deep about Outer Banks: it’s a fluffy teen adventure drama about a pack of kids from the wrong side of the tracks caught up in problems way beyond their ability to handle. But it’s competently executed and very easy to binge. The fourth season drops in two parts, as the Pogues finally have their hands on the gold they’ve been hunting, only to find that more money equals more problems.Don’t Move (Oct. 25)
Being alone in the woods is scary enough, but combine that with your body slowly shutting down and you’ve got a real recipe for horror. Don’t Move stars Kelsey Asbille as a grieving woman who crosses paths with a serial killer who injects her with a slow-acting paralytic and sets her loose in the wilderness to hunt.
